DOJ says Trump contacted foreign countries to assist Barr's Russia inquiry

DOJ says Trump contacted foreign countries to assist Barr's Russia inquiry

The Department of Justice said Monday that President Trump contacted foreign countries at Attorney General William Barr’s request to ask them for assistance in an ongoing investigation into the origins of the Russian interference probe.
“As the Department of Justice has previously announced, a team led by U.S. Attorney John Durham is investigating the origins of the U.S. counterintelligence probe of the Trump 2016 presidential campaign. Mr. Durham is gathering information from numerous sources, including a number of foreign countries,” Justice Department spokeswoman Kerri Kupec said in a statement.
“At Attorney General Barr’s request, the President has contacted other countries to ask them to introduce the Attorney General and Mr. Durham to appropriate officials,” Kupec added.
The Justice Department statement quickly followed reports that Trump had asked Australia’s prime minister during a recent phone call to assist Barr in gathering information for the inquiry, and that Barr had held meetings overseas seeking their help in it as well.
White House spokesman Hogan Gidley also said that Barr asked Trump to “provide introductions to facilitate” the ongoing investigation, accusing Democrats of not wanting “the truth to come out.”
"This call relates to a DOJ inquiry publicly announced months ago to uncover exactly what happened," Gidley said in a statement. “The DOJ simply requested that the President provide introductions to facilitate that ongoing inquiry, and he did so, that's all."
Barr said earlier this year that he planned to investigate the intelligence collection on the Trump campaign to determine whether it was “adequately predicated.” Trump has given Barr sweeping powers in the investigation, including allowing the attorney general to declassify and release documents related to the probe.
The review spearheaded by Durham, the U.S. attorney in Connecticut, is separate from the Justice Department inspector general’s investigation into the FBI’s surveillance of ex-Trump campaign adviser Carter Page, a report on which is currently being prepared.
Democrats have accused Trump and Barr of pursuing a politically motivated investigation. Trump railed against special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation as a “witch hunt” and has at points claimed the investigation into his campaign’s links to Russia was “illegal.”
Mueller concluded his investigation in March; the special counsel did not find sufficient evidence to accuse members or associates of Trump’s campaign with conspiring with Russia to interfere in the 2016 election.
The investigation ensnared six Trump associates on financial, false statements and other charges.

Democrats Drop The Hammer On Giuliani And His Minions For All Ukraine Docs

Rep. Adam Schiff, the Chairman of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, Rep. Eliot L. Engel, the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and Rep. Elijah E. Cummings, the Chairman of the Committee on Oversight wrote to Giuliani, “Pursuant to the House of Representatives’ impeachment inquiry, we are hereby transmitting a subpoena that compels you to produce the documents set forth in the accompanying schedule by October 15, 2019.”
The Chairmen explained that Giuliani’s own TV appearances have come back to haunt him, “In addition to this stark admission, you stated more recently that you are in possession of evidence—in the form of text messages, phone records, and other communications—indicating that you were not acting alone and that other Trump Administration officials may have been involved in this scheme.”
They later added, “A growing public record indicates that the President, his agent Rudy Giuliani, and others appear to have pressed the Ukrainian government to pursue two politically-motivated investigations. The Committees have reason to believe that you have information and documents relevant to these matters.”
The reason they have to believe that Giuliani has additional documents and information is that he was all over Fox News reading texts from State Department officials from his cell phone.

Rudy Giuliani got himself into this mess by trying to throw the State Department under the bus when the heat started coming down on him.
Giuliani is the central figure who fed Trump the baseless Ukraine conspiracy theory about Joe Biden.
This isn’t 2016. House Democrats aren’t going to let Rudy and minions steal an election for Donald Trump.
The hammer has fallen on Trump’s TV lawyer.

Have you heard about the children in cages in America?☹

Our President calls children in cages our new Immigration plan. Many have died in custody.
The children are taking care of the babies. They have nothing to work with. Little to no food for them. Uncivilized conditions to be living in. Lice and filth for them. No toothbrushes, no Soap and little to no food. How can a civilized America be treating our children, who we stole away from their parents to live in hazardous and frightening conditions like this? I can hardly breathe when I read about this. This is what we are dealing with from a Republican President who doesn't read, know the rules and tweets out things that can put us into a state of war?
         Until later...

LIFE AFTER WITHDRAWL.

I got to talk to my younger and wise friend last night. It was a long phone call of three hours into the wee hours of the morning. It was cleansing.
I dug my way out of the hole of xanax addiction that my Dr did to me for 30 years. Your brain doesn't know how to think and losing everything that we take advantage of. My mind was frozen in a state of terror and I couldn't stop the shaking all the way to the core of my body. This lasted for months. I could no longer drive, listen to music, watch tv, nor concentrate. They eyes of the people on tv took me into a state of horror. Nothing was normal. I questioned hourly how long is this going to last? They told me it would take months maybe years to heal. My brain was broken. I survived the terror of withdrawal. It lasted for months of being sick physically and emotionally from it.
Outpatient helped me a lot in learning how to think and not think. Addiction is real it changed me without knowing it would. My heart goes out to anyone with any type of addiction. We don't need to be judged because we are suffering terribly. This wasn't of my own free will it was my Dr.s choice who led me to believe I could never be normal again without Xanax. I was medically disabled for thirty years and I am here to let you know that I beat it, I am well! I can't go back and regain the years that I lost but I can live fully in the present and future.
So don't give up! You are the only one who can help yourself. You have to do this yourself and no one else can can make you better. This is to all who are fighting Alcoholism, mental illness, and Addiction. Don't think about the past in who did what to each other. Live in the present moment and not too far ahead to make yourself scared and nervous about things.
They told me to Color so that's what I do I Color in Coloring books to relax and to take my mind off of other things. That's the problem is that we lose ourselves in our thoughts and it makes us scared of everything. Work it girl, you can do it. You can do almost anything to fight to regain control over your mind. It's a daily presence of mind. Stay in the moment. You can do this. You got this. Keep going! You are surviving. Until later,

Trying to conquer withdrawal from Xanax for Anxiety.

I'm having a harder time today trying to not be confused and disoriented. My brain won't stop thinking. How do you shut of your thinking part of your brain?
I know people who don't have this just don't understand. Please help me. I need support through this wicked journey. It's taken its toll on me. I thought I was being so positive but worrying about why I can't help my daughter from being so angry at me. I just can't help her as this is too much for me to do. She has to work out her own problems she has. Hopefully her new therapist is a good one. She is way of the road of reality and it's not helping me work out these issues on myself. I protected her and her troubled self most of her life and I just am not able anymore to help her. Everyone blames mom. It's time mom needs a break as mom is getting old and just can't do this anymore. Sorry.
Trying to stay positive here. Life is a journey and boy the roads have been rough and not paved. The hills have been high and it falls so deeply along the way. Mental illness isn't fun. I raised you and helped you raise your kids. Don't expect me to meet your expectations anymore. Your 39 so live your life. I had to do it on my own without family and I did the best that I could do. Do you now and I will do me.
No time for drama this late in life. The years have gone and the decades have flown by so quickly. I have arrived. I will be sixty five years old next month. Time's a ticking. I still have a bit of living to do. I will pray each day and know God is with me. I know calm down and join the world. I'm trying, very trying as my mom used to say to me.
It's winter time and the snow has shown up to say hello. Ok it feels much colder than 33 degrees. brrrr. Love my Ohio winters. Thirty years of feeling normal gone. No more medication. I'm on my own. I'm scared. Let me breathe normally . Peace be with you. Until later...

Two weeks before hurricane season, Puerto Rico is not ready, groups warn As the start of hurricane season looms, 20,000 customers in Puerto Rico still have no power and federal aid is falling short, say groups.

Hurricane season starts in exactly two weeks, prompting worries that the island — still in recovery mode from Hurricane Maria — is not ready to face another storm season.
On Tuesday, several members of the Power 4 Puerto Rico coalition, comprised of several non-profits and advocacy groups issued a warning to the federal government, concerned that much of the island's existing challenges after Hurricane Maria will repeat themselves in the event of another hurricane.
Throughout the eight months following Hurricane Maria, there have been issues surrounding FEMA's recovery efforts, including questions about botched meal contractsdelayed emergency response , and the high numbers of denied aid applications to rebuild homes.
“One thing is evident at the core of the response,” said Ana Maria Archila, co-executive director at the Center for Popular Democracy and a part of the Power 4 Puerto Rico coalition. “There is a crisis of democracy. The federal government is acting as if the people of Puerto Rico are not constituents.”
June 26, 2019- Over a year later.
Let me tell you what happened after the storm.
Our president went down to Puerto Rico and threw rolls of paper towels to the people. After that he chose to not fund
these beautiful people and many died in desolate conditions. No money was ever put aside to help them from the emergency from the storm. His first total tragedy. To this
day people are still suffering and Puerto Rico is still suffering. This is Donald Trumps fault. Help us Lord from the Storm of Trump onto the people and to our
little chldren. Lord help s all. Until later...

Advice from a old person.

Advice from a old person.

1. The most important person in your life is the person who agreed to share their life with you. Treat them as such. 2. You might live a long life, or you might live a short one — who knows. But either way, trust me when I say that you’re going to wish you took better care of yourself in your youth. 3. Stuff is just stuff. Don’t hold onto material objects, hold onto time and experiences instead. 4. Jealousy destroys relationships. Trust your significant other, because who else are you supposed to trust? 5. People always say, ’’Make sure you get a job doing what you love!’’ But that isn’t the best advice. The right job is the job you love some days, can tolerate most days, and still pays the bills. Almost nobody has a job they love every day. 6. If you’re getting overwhelmed by life, just return to the immediate present moment and savour all that is beautiful and comforting. Take a deep breath, relax. 7. Years go by in the blink of an eye. Don’t marry young. Live your life. Go places. Do things. If you have the means or not. Pack a bag and go wherever you can afford to go. While you have no dependents, don’t buy stuff. Any stuff. See the world. Look through travel magazines and pick a spot. GO! 8. Don’t take life so seriously. Even if things seem dark and hopeless, try to laugh at how ridiculous life is. 9. A true friend will come running if you call them at 2am. Everyone else is just an acquaintance. 10. Children grow up way too fast. Make the most of the time you have with them. 11. Nobody ever dies wishing they had worked more. Work hard, but don’t prioritize work over family, friends, or even yourself. 12. Eat and exercise like you’re a diabetic heart patient with a stroke — so you never actually become one. 13. Maybe this one isn’t as profound as the others, but I think it’s important… Floss regularly, dental problems are awful. 14. Don’t take anyone else’s advice as gospel. You can ask for advice from someone you respect, then take your situation into consideration and make your own decision. Essentially, take your own advice is my advice… 15. The joints you damage today will get their revenge later. Even if you think they’ve recovered completely. TRUST ME! 16. We have one time on this earth. Don’t wake up and realize that you are 60 years old and haven’t done the things you dreamed about. 17. Appreciate the small things and to be present in the moment. What do I mean? Well, it seems today like younger people are all about immediate gratification. Instead, why not appreciate every small moment? We don’t get to stay on this crazy/wonderful planet forever and the greatest pleasure can be found in the most mundane of activities. Instead of sending a text, pick up the phone and call someone. Call your mother, have a conversation about nothing in particular. Those are the moments to hold onto. 18. Pay your bills and stay the hell out of debt. If I could have paid myself all the money I’ve paid out in interest over the years, I’d be retired already. 19. If you have a dream of being or doing something that seems impossible, try for it anyway. It will only become more impossible as you age and become responsible for other people. 20. When you meet someone for the first time, stop and realize that you really know nothing about them. You see race, gender, age, clothes. Forget it all. You know nothing. Those biased assumptions that pop into your head because of the way your brain likes categories, are limiting your life, and other people’s lives.

LETTER FROM A MOTHER TO A DAUGHTER

LETTER FROM A MOTHER TO A DAUGHTER
LETTER FROM A MOTHER TO A DAUGHTER:"My dear girl, the day you see I’m getting old, I ask you to please be patient, but most of all, try to understand what I’m going through.
If when we talk, I repeat the same thing a thousand times, don’t interrupt to say: “You said the same thing a minute ago”... Just listen, please. Try to remember the times when you were little and I would read the same story night after night until you would fall asleep.
When I don’t want to take a bath, don’t be mad and don’t embarrass me. Remember when I had to run after you making excuses and trying to get you to take a shower when you were just a girl?
When you see how ignorant I am when it comes to new technology, give me the time to learn and don’t look at me that way... remember, honey, I patiently taught you how to do many things like eating appropriately, getting dressed, combing your hair and dealing with life’s issues every day... the day you see I’m getting old, I ask you to please be patient, but most of all, try to understand what I’m going through.
If I occasionally lose track of what we’re talking about, give me the time to remember, and if I can’t, don’t be nervous, impatient or arrogant. Just know in your heart that the most important thing for me is to be with you.
And when my old, tired legs don’t let me move as quickly as before, give me your hand the same way that I offered mine to you when you first walked.
When those days come, don’t feel sad... just be with me, and understand me while I get to the end of my life with love.
I’ll cherish and thank you for the gift of time and joy we shared. With a big smile and the huge love I’ve always had for you, I just want to say, I love you... my darling daughter."

14 Signs of High Intelligence that Cannot Be Faked

14 Signs of High Intelligence that Cannot Be Faked

Intelligent people and smart people are two very different things. Sure, most people might assume they are the same but even some of the dullest lights can be intelligent in their own ways.
Below I am going to go over some of the more common signs that you might be more intelligent than you think. These are things people can try to fake but never truly get right. You either have them or you don’t there is not much of an in-between.

14 Things That Prove You Have An Intelligence That Cannot Be Faked:

1. You have a lot of self-control.

You are able to keep yourself in check big time. You know who you are and who you are not. Bad timing is not a thing with you.

2. You are easily distracted.

You sometimes find yourself a bit distracted. Those who do not let their minds wander are not intelligent. Being distracted is not a bad thing. It means your mind is able to do more than you think it is.

3. You stay up late.

Smarter people tend to stay up late. If you are a bit of a night owl then you might be more intelligent than you think. This meaning intelligent in the ways most people would assume. There is nothing wrong with being a person of the night. Even DaVinci slept the most during the day.

4. You worry about the small things, a lot.

One study
found that kids who worried more scored higher on tests. The more we ruminate, the more intelligent we are. Those who tend to worry about things also tend to put more into the work that they do.

5. You question everything.

People with higher intelligent levels tend to really spend more time thinking. They question things other people might not question. They are always going out of their way to figure things out.

6. You understand that there is a lot you do not know.

This is probably one of the most prominent things that intelligent people do. They know that they are not the smartest people in the world. Sometimes there are things we don’t know and there is nothing wrong with that. Truly intelligent people are the only ones who accept this.

7. You have a good sense of humor.

Humor affects our intellectual abilities. It keeps our brain and so forth in good condition so that we can remain intelligent. If you find a lot of things to be funny and laugh at things other people might not it is a better sign than you might think.

8. Your memory is very in depth.

The more detailed your memory is, the better. Do you remember tiny details of things other people don’t? This is a sign that you are picking up on things in real time that most are not.

9. You tend to procrastinate.

Intelligent people tend to procrastinate more because they know that they can still get things done. They put things off until the very last minute and then rush them together. While this is not always the case it is a lot of the time.

10. You are very specific.

People who are highly intelligent are much more specific than most people. When the give directions or tell a story it is highly detailed. They know how things should be and want to give as much information as possible.

11. You are very curious.

Intelligent people are usually very curious people. They seek out a lot of things that other people don’t. They tend to think more than the average person and so when they notice something their curiosity about it becomes peaked.

12. You have thick skin.

Intelligent people do not often let things other people say affect them. They have thick skin and know that when people insult them they are merely trying to build themselves up. These things will not bring them down.

13. You do not underestimate or overestimate yourself.

Intelligent people know who they are and what they are capable of. They don’t force themselves to take too much on at once and they don’t underdo anything either. Intelligent people know their limits.

14. You are very empathetic.

Intelligent people are more empathic than other people. They really feel things on a deeper level than your average Joe. While this can be a bad thing it is also generally a very good thing.
